I absolutely agree that traffic enforcement should not be run by private companies and, given the structure of your law enforcement, should not be left to local sheriffs either.

As someone who turned 50 this year, there’s a slice of envy too. So much potential to be explored. And knees that don’t hurt.

The last 10 years we’ve had a company importing RAMs F150s and Silverados and converting them to right hand drive and they are really popular. Seeing past Rangers and HiLuxes was hard enough in my VW Polo, it sucks.

Something I really noticed while driving in the USA a couple of years ago. Legitimately terrifying to share the roads. We have mobile phone use detection cameras here and I really think it does make things safer.

And red light cameras too! They just blow through red lights, especially at pedestrian crossings!

This is the same argument Australians use when it’s pointed out that European roads are safer. But, most people do not regularly drive between large cities, they drive from their house to their workplace/school/shopping etc

The most popular vehicles here for the last 15 years are the Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger. Not as big as the F150 but still pickups with high and dangerous front grills.

Where there are more likely to be pedestrians and other vulnerable road users? It is better to have speed and traffic light enforcement cameras there.

My parents emigrated here from London and I have American cousins. As much as I love travelling in the USA and my family there, I’m so grateful my parents chose to come here.
