It’s hard not to feel like the Democratic party has chosen to side with big tech and its massive wealth over the interests and well-being of working Americans.

Artists have been expressing deep and valid concern over AI development for years now, regarding both the threat to livelihood posed by relentless automation and the use of unauthorized copyrighted material. Thus far almost no politician has acknowledged our fears.

@georgewhitesides.bsky.social I wrote to your office about the attempt to ban state AI regulation in the budget and received a response that did not acknowledge my concerns. I’m asking that you please let your constituents know where you stand on AI and the threat it poses to California’s workers.
