SALT35 The 35th meeting of Semantics and Linguistic Theory

Hi semantics friends, this is the SALT 35 organizers at Harvard taking over from our SALT 34 at Rochester colleagues! We begin with the hopefully welcome news that this year's abstract submission deadline is now this Friday (Dec. 20), extended from this Wed Dec. 18: saltconf.github.io/salt35/

Heading out for SALT34 tomorrow, where I'll be presenting joint work with Vera Hohaus on "Scope, monotonicity and maximal informativity cannot be underestimated! A compositional analysis of an apparent linguistic illusion." Looking forward to it!

Decision notifications for SALT34 have now been sent out. In total, 9% of papers were accepted as talks, and 15% were accepted as posters.

The SALT34 program chairs' report will provide an in-depth analysis of reviews. In the meantime, here's a quick look at the distribution of mean ratings for each dimension by paper.

Decisions will be sent out on Monday.

The SALT34 review deadline has now passed, but we’re still waiting on about a quarter of the reviews, with almost 2/3 papers missing at least one review. If you haven’t done so already, please get your reviews in!

SALT34 reviewing assignments have been made. Reviews are due Feb. 10, and we are targeting Feb. 26 for notification of decisions.

The main technical difficulty that submitters have experienced is that it can take 12 hours for an OpenReview account to be activated. If you plan to submit and haven't made an OpenReview account, please do so as soon as possible in order to ensure that the account is active before the new deadline.

Due to technical difficulties experienced by some submitters, the submission deadline has been extended to Monday, December 4, 2023, 11:59 pm anywhere on earth (UTC-12).
