I'd love to see game dev unions focus on advocacy for policy changes so groups like @gumbonyc.bsky.social can purchase group health insurance for members. A lot of game devs are freelancers / contract workers, esp. these days where w2 jobs are scarce. For some, it's literally life and death.

If we don’t continue to train ourselves to do things that machines are imitating admirably, not only will we be replaced, we will be taken out of the broader conversation entirely when it comes to politics, art etc. Those things shouldn’t be run by elites.
