Oh my gosh, I played the shareware Pickle Wars *so* much as a kid! I'd never have expected to see anyone posting it.

(It took me ages to learn what a real salad shooter is)

Would any #GameMaker devs be interested in testing out an API tool I made? As I was getting my game working on Playmanity, I thought the process could be simplified since 90% of it would be the same code in every game. I'll share more details if you're interested!

A screenshot from the game Key Gunner. Three different enemies approach the player in the middle of the screen, who points a gun towards one of them. Each enemy has letters above its head - a slug-like enemy has "ARI" above it, a fly-like enemy has "X" above it, and another slug-like enemy has "LZS". The latter enemy is the one being pointed at with the gun, and the letters L and Z look damaged, since they have been shot already. The game is in a 2D Pixel art style, taking place in a desert environment.

Key Gunner is an arcade action typing game where you defend yourself from hordes of enemies by typing the letters above their heads. It features three difficulties, and you can customize how often the enemies have real words vs random letters. Check out it! zad-man.itch.io/key-gunner

Oh wait, I just remembered that Expelled! is a 2025 game! I have no idea how well-known it is, but it should absolutely be even better known!

I mean, Key Gunner came out in 2025 and is extremely lesser-known... 😁

But yeah, I was already beaten to Seance and Promise Mascot Agency. Heck, I still really want to finish Blue Prince even though I think I made it way past where most people stopped, even though it's already my GOTY.

I never quite got it to obey - it would just respond with "LOL!!" or similar, but never claimed to be human either.

Well. I just got off the phone with them and it turns out THE GUY JUST TALKS LIKE THAT! 😳 I even thought it might be a digital voice because his speech patterns are *so* AI-like.
