It's as good a time as any to post some more Boris Artzybasheff. This is in the category of "can be interpreted as speculative evolution even if that wasn't necessarily the artist's intention".

I spent ages fruitlessly looking for a bigger version too! I came across his work when I noticed one of his WW2 cartoons in my feed and from there I eventually arrived at this unexpected "cursed spec evo" one. Really amazing artist.

That's actually the opening to the mantle cavity. Their mantle isn't their head but their torso.

Cephalopods don't have the head-torso-limb body plan like we do. Instead, they have the torso-head-limb body plan.

Weird. I can select photos from any album from any time. Which is why you’re getting the Las Vegas Natural History Museum cursed theropod. Also, it’s an excuse to post cursed theropod.

Did humanity invent the wheel? No, we merely REinvented it. According to experts*, dimetrodon's spines may have allowed this predator to roll down hills like a wheel and impale smaller prey. Evidence for this is that "dimetrodon" is clearly a contraction of "dimet roll down".
