Sonic could finally be at peace, no longer having to hide this "secret," after discovering that this new adventure was beginning for them.

In doing so, he was able to confirm the baby's existence. Sonic and Knuckles, despite having sought the possibility of becoming parents, still couldn't believe it was finally a reality: a being sharing both of their DNA was growing and developing.

Context: After that couple's spat, Tails proceeds to perform the ultrasound to finally clear any doubts.

​For his part, Tails had already set a date to confirm his suspicions and uncover the truth behind so many doubts: an ultrasound.

A couple of hours passed before he regained consciousness. Knuckles was quick to confront him about what had happened, but they didn't expect Sonic to talk back with the same intensity as his husband’s concerns.

The incident alarmed the fox, who felt compelled to call Knuckles to inform him of the situation; the guardian left everything to rush to his side.

Context: Sonic went to visit Tails at his workshop, but he didn’t count on fainting right in the middle of their conversation.

Knuckles, for his part, noticed that Sonic’s appetite had changed; he barely ate like he used to, and his diet was unusual. At first, Knuckles didn't think much of it because he trusted his partner, but he also knew Sonic was far too proud to admit when he felt unwell, often hiding any discomfort.

Upon arrival, he noticed that Knuckles' scent was different—or at least, more intense. He smelled like salt water, something that made Sonic’s stomach churn for no apparent reason.

Sonic went to visit his husband on Angel Island, facing a few setbacks along the way. His sense of smell had become sensitive, and as time passed, various discomforts began to manifest.

Context: After a talk with Tails on the day of the test, and without any solid confirmation yet, Sonic decided to be cautious about the situation. Knuckles was completely unaware, but after so much time as friends and lovers, the echidna knew him well enough to notice something was off.

This time, they decide to try consciously. Sonic believes his test has come back negative again, but then he notices a second line so faint that he isn't sure if it’s actually a positive.

However, after certain events during their first years of marriage, Sonic noticed some signs and realized that—deep down—he truly desired to start a family with his husband. Even a pregnancy scare weeks prior changed his mind, awakening a longing within him to have an heir.

Context: Before getting married, Sonic and Knuckles had agreed not to have children, a decision primarily driven by Sonic.
