Relieved that my own employer had neither resource nor inclination to bother with it.

Our SE London was named and they did a full search of all yr 11 bags with metal detectors so the teachers did take it seriously, annoying for them to have to spend time on this.

Yes, some of my beliefs have probably migrated in the other direction. Can’t think which right now but that’s an obvious symptom!

My dad said yrs ago people turn rightwards when they have kids, although neither of us did, in fact the opposite (eg more radically opposed to public schools).

I think some peoples’ empathy drops off with their own increased comfort. (Feel same re: ex-veggies tbh, odd that you can reverse that!)

Expect to see the same down here soon

Enough of complacency from Labour, they’re absolutely going for it so it’ll be well deserved when it happens.

Cannot wait for the Greens to take an inner London Council from Labour in May tbh (hopefully more than one!)

Also schools allocation, kids being sent far away from home is very unhelpful for family logistics.

#Archaeology has been marginalised in the draft #NPPF - Neil and Catherine of the CBA are giving an online webinar tomorrow to explain more, and advise on responding:

Well lots of the teens have cycling parents πŸ˜€ which I guess makes a difference but I think they see the freedom to chose your journey, timing, clothing etc which is what we all love about it. Limes have their issues ofc but have transformed the idea of casual cycling.

Joyous and important thread about kids #cycling in #London, can also report teens (yes, including girls!) regularly using bikes to get home at night, to/from school and generally around Southwark. Often Lime bikes, which have changed the game for that age group.

We should be investing heavily 🚲

Fantastic turnout and support for Prospect's industrial action on pay that started today across London Museum locations. Loved seeing the placards, badges, costumes and masks and incredible energy.

Proud to have kicked off the speeches, plus chants and old dockers songs!

Amesbury Archer Primary School - Our History Welcome to the website of Amesbury Archer Primary School

I should have posted this clarification for non-archaeologists earlier, but the Amesbury Archer is a positive role model for local kids:

Burial context is mentioned too which gives an additionally worrying slant, I’m not an expert but to report that without any comment on potential grave disturbance is terrible.

Quite a few buildings in London have remains in their basements that you need to book, but can see for free (often part of planning consent).

There’s a great OA review of the Silchester excavation monographs by Prof M.Millett in Antiqs Journal from @antiquaries.bsky.social

Very helpful for those who need to know both salient & obscure details of the stratigraphy, and where to find them.

My dad had to bribe me with a crumpled Β£5 to swim 25m. I would also submit impact reports for cash.
