My work as the Co-Director of the University of Nebraska AI Institute will be based on the ideals that have shaped my digital humanities scholarship till now and, as has been a hallmark of my career, will center the intellectual development and critical thinking abilities of students. 3/6

I see this as a unqiue opportunity to help guide an R1 university’s response to AI in a way that reflects humanities values, prioritizes the well being of the people and environment of Nebraska, and promotes informed and fact-based critical engagement with the many aspects of AI. 2/6

I have been selected to be the Co-Director of the new AI Institute for the University of Nebraska system. 1/6

Interesting - all the historians I currently know in history at UNL focus on more recent eras. In English we just lost a Renaissance specialst who took a job elsewhere

Thank you to NAVSA, to my colleaugues in BAVS and SFEVE, and also the many colleagues with whom I have worked to develop Undisciplining the Victorian Classroom, One More Voice, Livingstone Online, and COVE. I have learned so much from you and treasure the opportunities created by our shared work.

Throughout my career I have sought to promote international dialogue among Victorianists and I have used my DH projects to create a welcoming space for the academy’s most structually-vulnerable scholars. I am deeply honored to have received the President’s Award from @navsa.bsky.social for my work.

I am delighted to announce that the poster colleagues and I created for “Disclosing Gen AI Use in Digital Humanities Research” has received Best Poster Award, 1st Place from the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) Conference.

David Livingstone Goes Digital
