27.02.2025 12:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's so easy to think that the problem is the algorithm (I'm also aware and agree that the algorithm sucks). And yes, I also find myself thinking that the problem is the algorithm, especially when I read that it was easier to grow 3 or 4 years ago.
27.02.2025 11:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was thinking that it's so cool to see people engaging and growing on social media, because it gives hope that it is still possible to grow on the internet these days.

In the end, I overthink so much that I get paralyzed, another week goes by, and I still havenβt posted anything. And the cycle repeats itself.
If you want to read more about it or other topics behind-the-scenes from an illustrator, subscribe to my newsletter: charleneperuchi.substack.com
I know my anxiety plays a big role in this. I overthink everything and donβt believe in myself, which leads me to feel like Iβm not βgood enoughβ to post online.
26.02.2025 12:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I keep wondering what could I even share on social media? It feels like I donβt have anything valuable to post, and when I do come up with a topic, it never seems βgood enough.β

One of the things that makes me less anxious is organization. Because my mind is already disorganized enough.
Because of that, I try to keep my desk and environment more organized. The same goes for the folders on my laptop and Google Drive. Also, I use Notion to plan my week.
You aren't weird because of that. I also can't work with people talking next to me.

Wordpress is one of them because you can use a free template, which you only edit. But I know that WIX and Squarespace (no free plan) are easy to use.
Do you have your website? What platform did you create it on?
I understand that creating your own website may seem overwhelming, but there are tools that make it easier, especially for those who don't understand coding.
24.02.2025 10:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I believe it's very important to have your website as a portfolio. Although I have an account on Behance, I never know what future decisions they'll make that will impact my portfolio there.
24.02.2025 10:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Over the past 3 weeks, I've spent most of my time updating my portfolio, from creating the new design to finalizing the website using WordPress. You can check it out here: charleneperuchi.com

But after a while, that feeling disappeared, and honestly, not having access to the internet didnβt seem to make much of a difference in my life.
And yet, here I am, still hooked on social media⦠and at the same time, creating content for it.
I remember the first time I had to go without the internet after months of being super active on Facebookβit was late 2010. The first few days were rough; I had this weird anxiety, like I was missing out on something important.
21.02.2025 12:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβve realized Iβve been spending way too much time on social media. Even though I set a timer on my phone, I just end up turning it off and scrolling through short videos anyway.
21.02.2025 12:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Suddenly, Iβm watching some random YouTube video without even realizing how I got there. π
Whatβs something that gets you so focused you forget to eat?
Itβs crazy how easily I get distracted, depending on what Iβm doing. If Iβm illustrating something I love, I can go for hours without even realizing how much time has passed. But if Iβm working on something like social media content or emails?
20.02.2025 14:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The only thing Iβve done so far is set up the page template to figure out how many pages Iβll need and split the text across them.
19.02.2025 11:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Taking the first step to start something is so hard, especially when itβs a big project. For instance, Iβve been postponing a big project for months: a dummy for a story I wrote for a childrenβs book.

I havenβt posted any new videos on my YouTube channel in the past three weeks, but I was so happy to see that Iβve passed 200 subscribers! It really means a lot to know that there are people out there who enjoy what I share and want to support me.
Huge thanks to everyone who has supported me! π
(It still feels weird to call myself a content creator, but honestly, I do kind of play that role in my daily life, donβt I?)

Today, I put together the newsletter thatβs going out tomorrow! I shared a bit about what Iβve been up to this past week and opened up a little about whatβs been on my mind lately as an illustrator and content creator.

After 3 weeks without showing up here, I'm back. I caught the flu that kept me on the couch for a week. Then I needed another week to get my energy back. Getting back into the routine after being sick for almost two weeks is challenging, but here I am :)

I caught a bad flu, and after almost 5 days on the couch, I'm slowly getting back to my routine :)
At least, I caught up on the series and movies, including:
- Atonement
- Arcane (season 2)
- Grave of the fireflies
Thank you!

Almost 200 subscribersπ
Making videos is not easy for me. My critical self always thinks that the video I recorded is not enough, that it lacks real content, and that I'm wasting time.
But seeing each new view, comment, new subscriber, and like makes me happy and makes me think about not giving upππ

This was the first illustrated map I made. It was a final project for the Inky Maps course by @mrtomfroese.bsky.social.
I hope to visit these castles in Scotland one day, but in the meantime, I decided to draw this region.
