I don't need to tell anybody this, but the season ends with Ryan Mason heroically keeping Spurs in the Premier League and West Brom being relegated to League One.

Scot mostly found in the West Midlands. Social democracy. Probably the only person to hold a season ticket for both Aberdeen and West Brom. I don't agree with that in the workplace.

05.03.2026 20:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well, yes, if you think Labour should be basing their political strategy on Stewart Lee's approach to his own audience members.
05.03.2026 12:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0More sensationally, in a diatribe that has since been sadly deleted from the Internet, I found a post by somebody pondering whether my views on red and grey squirrels translated to immigration policy, and what I would make of having immigrants as neighbours. That person is probably on Bluesky now.
05.03.2026 12:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was once interviewed on a prime-time BBC news programme about the demise of the red squirrel in the north of Scotland.
05.03.2026 12:25 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0How much of his football is high-pressing and transitional? My concern is that has clear limitations for challenges faced by Aberdeen. McInnes was successful at Dons (and now Hearts) because of flexibility: happy as protagonist and antagonist. Those managers are priceless for clubs like Aberdeen.
05.03.2026 12:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Milne is a good reader of the game, I think, but not really a front-foot aggressor. You could probably say similar of Knoester. Molloy wants to be aggressive and proactive, but can be rash. I wouldn't be so sure about Nilsen in a two against a more nimble centre-forward, but he did well last night.
05.03.2026 11:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A truly remarkable line of attack from Farage given how regularly Reform manage to source large groups of claqueurs to attend their rallies and speeches at 2pm on any given Wednesday afternoon.
05.03.2026 11:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Nilsen's duel stats from last night aren't great, a bit unexpectedly, but it definitely felt like he held his own against Cvancara and at least limited what Celtic could do with long passes up to him. Celtic's lack of a runner in behind in the first half definitely helped us squeeze the game.
05.03.2026 11:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Nygren helped them. Maeda, for all he isnβt having a great season, offered a different threat to Cvancara. I thought biggest difference in final half hour was Hatate deciding to turn up, though - when he does, they are suddenly quite a bit better. We missed Olusanyaβs pressing and general busyness.
05.03.2026 10:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My paternal grandfather was an insurance clerk. He was raised in abject poverty by my illiterate greatβgrandparents. Despite this, he won a full scholarship to a local independent school, excelled, but endured outrageous classism there and evermore. His intelligence and stoicism were extraordinary.
05.03.2026 00:15 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We weren't dreadful tonight, but still a bit too easy to play against. We got noticeably less threatening when Olusanya went off - he's not a great player, but does have a nuisance factor. This is a limited Celtic, but they still have enough individual quality to turn it on for a couple of moments.

Only here for Peter Levenβs relegation-maxxing Reds.

Enjoying reading about the UKβs greatest ever Prime Minister.

04.03.2026 16:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0An excerpt from a Daily Mail article reading: "The UK was left embarrassed as military minnow Greece will have warships in position to protect RAF Akrotiri days before the Royal Navy will be anywhere near the danger zone."
Why is the Daily Mail writing about this using language normally associated with an FA Cup giantkilling?

A lot of competition, but might be the best line in the full four seasons of #IndustryHBO, this.
Thank you, Yasmin.
I think this has to be my favourite part of the Dave Cormack interview, where he seems to try and convince listeners - and possibly himself - that his motivations for serving as Chairman of Aberdeen FC are purely charitable or perhaps even humanitarian in nature.
03.03.2026 21:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I really appreciate how Trump refers to the UK simply as "UK", like how Buster speaks about "Army" on Arrested Development.
03.03.2026 18:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Interesting on atmosphere. I think it's like if you call a plumber: they don't fix issue and you maybe shrug it off. By the time the fourth plumber still can't fix it, you're not only annoyed at them - they also get pent-up anger from all previous failures. A bit of that with fans and team now, IMO.

Despite my general aversion to BrewDog, the news about both the Castlegate and Union Square premises shutting down is bad for Aberdeen, and especially for those losing their jobs and incomes.
I don't know if it is even a remote possibility, but it would be nice if Fierce could expand at Castlegate.
A excerpt from a Guardian article reading: "More than 200,000 "equity for punks" investors, many of whom had at one stage hoped to cash in from a stock market float projected to value the company at Β£2bn, will not receive anything, according to AlixPartners, which acted as the administrator for BrewDog."
You're still thinking about the bad news, aren't you?
02.03.2026 16:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1I keep reading about Iran being "shite". The BBC and Sky were at it today. What a rude and unsavoury way to speak about such a proud and globally significant nation.
02.03.2026 16:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0"The trade was not that you were getting exposed to geopolitics when moving to Dubai."
02.03.2026 15:19 β π 4011 π 661 π¬ 219 π 554In order to understand UK politics in 2026 you must realise that a plumber & plasterer doesn't represent the interests of the working class because she is left-wing but a wealthy broadcaster & former academic does represent the interests of the working class because he is right-wing. Hope this helps
01.03.2026 13:17 β π 1772 π 469 π¬ 35 π 3Is there a case at that second Arsenal goal to say Gyokeres was offside and impeding Enzo's movement? I mean, it would have been harsh, but I'm a bit surprised VAR didn't look at it more closely.

01.03.2026 17:45 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 1It's a shame Northern Lights seems to have died something of a death, as it is great (although I accept not necessarily rousing). It was beautiful after the Scottish Cup final.
01.03.2026 17:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Up Wi' The Bonnets (Dundee) is a favourite of mine, too. A very rudimentary search suggests it could be an adaptation of a Walter Scott poem, but goodness knows.
01.03.2026 17:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The Hearts Song by Hector Nicol is, I hate to admit, a bit of a banger.
01.03.2026 17:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0North London Forever is a terrible choice for an anthem, in my humble opinion. Arsenal fans seem to like it, but not sure a pre-match rendition of a song about your local area being full of drugs, crime and prostitution really hits the spot, for me.
