@sfubiosciences.bsky.social student Matthew Lemp completed a co-op term at the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC and lived on-site at the Clearwater Hatchery. He got lots of experience caring for fish and travelled with senior fish culturists to release fish in lakes across BC.

"The biggest highlight was being able to optimize the use of fluorescent substrates on the alkaline cleavage assay, reducing the lab’s reliance on radioactive isotopes," he says.
