If it makes you feel better, it’s more cartoonishly violence. The pilots have a decent amount, so does season 1, but in season 2 it’s slightly more toned down

I don’t mean soap opera in a bad way, I actually prefer the soap opera style they were trying to do. My issue was the tonal whiplash of it

TLDR; you should definitely watch the first season of Helluva Boss, even the old and new pilots! But imo I would stop watching after S1E7 because atp your imagination could create a better continuation of events after that ending than the entirety of S2 ever could.

One good thing also! The writers still do good work with certain scenes and shorts. Season 2 still has good moments(they’re infrequent but they are there). My main issue is how those scenes and shorts are handled in a long-term perspective.

However, I do think Blitz’s and Stolas’s relationship should’ve been focused on much sooner, that way their relationship in the 2nd season wouldn’t feel as forced. First season feels like workplace hyjinks and then season two becomes like a soap opera without any transition with the character focus

I was fine with her being in the side lines in Season 1, but SEASON 2? That’s insane.
I do admit the art style in season 2 is a lot better than season 1, and the newly rewritten pilot that’s available on amazon did fix my main problem with stolas’s and Blitz’s relationship.

Same thing for Octavia, S1E2 she had character development with her dad, but then had that SAME development in S2E2. And this doesn’t even go into my gripes with the show’s handling of female characters. Millie hasn’t even gotten her own episode and she is supposed to be one of the main characters!

What made me dislike the show in season 2 though, was its inability to maintain focus and its derivative character struggles. Moxxie had character growth in S2E3 but then had that SAME development in S2E5, but this time (IMO) it was worse because moxxie became a huge prick to Millie for some reason

After my discourse in this thread I’m going to provide my objective opinion that you may or may not write off.
Season 1? Great! Some episodes varied in quality from one another, but even the infamous episode 4, CHERUB, I still really liked because of the humor.

Now I’m going to stop interacting with this thread because this is the main reason why I’m not in this fandom, fandom discourse is too much dude.

I understand you’re upset that I may be spreading Helluva Boss hate with my statement, and I’m sorry for phrasing it like that. I should’ve used a better word than “shitty.”
I still didn’t phrase it like it was a fact tho, but I’m not going to discuss that any further,

I’m an artist, I KNOW animation takes time. That’s not the point I’m trying to make.

I’m simply saying that when a fan waits that long for each episode of a show and ends up not liking it, then it is okay for them to be upset and express that

Could my opinion influence someone to not watch it? Of course! But if they really wanted to watch it then they would find all of the amazing things the show’s fans have to say on it. If someone decided to not watch the show because of my opinion, then that’s their choice

I said the writing is “shitty.” When discussing writing of ANY show, it is subject of opinion no matter HOW FACTUAL it seems. I could say “Helluva Boss has good writing” and that could be easily identified as an opinion. By context clues, anyone could define my statement as an opinion.

I used to love Helluva Boss (I even thought it was better than Hazbin at some point) and Ive been a fan of Vivziepop since 2017 so I GET why you love it. But I think being upset with your favorite show’s writing after so much build up and YEARS OF WAITING in between episodes is valid

Im not saying the SHOW is bad, im saying its writing is bad. Its music and art is gorgeous. But what keeps me tied to a show is the writing, and if that’s bad (imo) then I’m going to say it’s shitty. I’m not conflating anything, i just made a harsh opinion

IMO it is shitty, but you have every right to say that it is the most wonderful show in the world. IMO, they went in a bad direction, but you could say otherwise. At the end of the day, our opinions are subjective. If you don’t like mine then idk what to tell you

They are not holding hands, exactly, but holding onto each others hands quite firmly. The light hints it's either sundown or sunrise, but the sun is not Snowdin-cold at all. There's a considerable amount of naked papypelvis on show, please do stare!
