the very second he got to the stop & reached for the door, the driver took off.

partner ended up walking the ~20 blocks back home, fuming, with a worn-out, cranky toddler & no stroller or sling. day ruined.

partner was leaving the rec center w/ kiddo & saw the bus approaching (it arrived early) while he was only midway back to the bus stop. he put kiddo on his shoulders and ran, cutting across a field. even caught the driver's eye at one point.

i'd be too! so weird & fucked up to do.

something similar happened to my partner back when our son was still a toddler:
