Berndnaut Smilde Conjures Fleeting Nimbus Clouds as They Hover Indoors For less than ten seconds,Β Berndnaut Smilde’s floating sculptures transform galleries, halls, and warehouses into uncanny spaces.

If you haven't seen his work, Berndnaut Smilde does some amazing REAL images of Nimbus clouds indoors. A search will find many examples of his work, but it reframes the mind in terms of the possible and the lighting and shades/shadows are incredible too.

I've been looking for a drafting table setup almost identical to that that won't cost me an arm, leg, and maybe the rest of my hair. Not that it's THAT expensive, but I'd like the history and memories.. just not a $1000+ price point some of the real old school ones go for. Meh, one of these days.

I don't use them, but I still have my "Super Doors" on an external HD. It was a good challenge to develop them.

For me I divided it into design tech, science, and AI . Still developing things, but it should come down to selecting the right community for the right topics at that moment.

Not exactly a layer list. I'm leaning toward *sigh* this is combining all disciplines into one Revit project and using Worksets to control visibility.

It's clean, I'll give 'em credit. Plus under that circumstance this could speed loading up. But... just no...

Help

For those that like to educate your Revit users, a nice reminder that I did in-house was on Element Visibility Override Hierarchy. While I can't share my 30 minute presentation, I can give you the high level overview you can learn from or present to your teams. help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/202...

Successful design and organizations thrive not just on individual (or departmentalized) creativity but on shared integrity and accountability. True excellence in architecture comes when every team moves beyond their own goals, embracing shared responsibility for project's success and ethical impact.

Design teams often β€˜follow the money,’ focusing on discipline-specific budgets and timelines. This can create a silo effect, where collaboration falters at critical deadlines as pressures are seen as internal, not shared. #DesignProcess #Collaboration #BreakTheCycle #Education #Accountability

Discipline specific budgets and project hours often create communication silos, with discipline-specific teams sticking to their own meetings and spaces. This fosters mentorship but leaves team members unaware of the intricacies of each discipline's work and the reasons behind it. #Collaboration

"20 years ago people wanted nothing to do with that old CAD template, now they defend it and wouldn't go back. Help us shape the upcoming decade for the next generation of company designers and leaders".

Most definately, also customized the top section to have its own set of commands and content.

this is the HP 7550 pen plotter, probably the fastest ever made. the speed of the pen is 50cm/sec while drawing and 80cm/sec while moving with the pen up! 🀯

If you haven’t discovered it yet, there is a Lists option on this site. It allows you to organize your feeds for both personal and industry news… and essentially skip the main feed if it’s not to your liking.

While I promise to keep my posts a bit more... current... in terms of technology, I used to be known not as "The Revit Guy" but "The AutoCAD Guy". I was looking at my legacy DWG's and found a few classics from the earlier days of CAD that shipped with AutoCAD. Enjoy the memories!

I first left Twitter after news of how Musk was treating his employees came to light, leaving BIMfacts behind. I miss the interactions but don’t regret the reasons, nothing political related, all about work / life balance and basic human rights. It’s good to find and see the good people here.

There was a long time Autodesk employee who would always say "Now when you draw Ducks...." Not as interesting as "here's my shaft", but knowing how to connect your ducks seemed both interesting and confusing until you realized he actually meant "Ducts".
