Interesting large movement of Pink-feet after dusk. High. Sounded like they were moving from the south, coming over the Cairngorms! #highlandbirds

Think the Osprey was nonsense but there was definitely a Common Sand, photographed!

Looking through the local gull flock by Gairloch yesterday I thought the Bonaparte's Gull looked different from the one I've been seeing.
After looking through a video that I took I can see that there are at least 2 of them!
Video grab attached

Claim of an Osprey yesterday near Inverness but remains unverified as yet. Photo begs a few questions. #highlandbirds #birdingscotland.

Saw my first inland Oystercatcher yesterday, Broxden roundabout Perth. Tentative signs of spring already. #birdingscotland.

Wonder if it’s the relocating Argyll bird or Highland bird.

New Year’s Day officially the least birds recorded in the garden this winter. Even the PUC only picked up four species calling. Unheard of normally. Seem to be back today. Where’s that Bluetail !!!

Exactly ! Highland has a record of White’s Thrush caught on a Wildcat trail cam in a random plantation, middle of winter !

It’s probably been through my garden πŸ˜†. Seems to be following the tit flocks around. Interesting it appeared roughly same time 1.30pm at the spot. Sunlight related perhaps as they shift around.

Some years ago there used to be one regularly seen roosting in winter on a chimney pot in the middle of Avoch high street. They’re not daft !

Superb find James & thanks for the photos. You made a few local birders very happy today, I was lucky enough to get several views on the path before we lost it from view.

this is the greatest feeling, when the cord box proves its utility to a family member

Attributed to a combination of climate change and disruption to the lemming cycle. A tragedy.

My wife has been diagnosed with Lymes four times now, thankfully all caught in time as there was a rash, and she doesn’t even work outdoors. The doctors do seem more clued up than they used to be and less reluctant to give antibiotics.

I don’t think this is actually AI but when asked to confirm the location and provide more details the photographer has been very silent.
