Dorian turned and looked at the picture hanging above the fireplace. They saw how they were about to go back in time with him.

“I never had the intention to share my life with anyone. Relationships always bore me, plus being immortal makes any relationship with a mortal difficult. How could I watch someone I love grow old when I don’t? Turning them into a vampire was always an option, but they needed to also want this.”

“As you know, I lived a really long life, mostly recluse, away from the world. Always had difficulty trusting people. In fact even today I can count on one hand the people I will fully trust with my life.”

“I will try not to take too much of your time and I will not be able to answer all your questions, but I will do what I can.”

The lord of the house was waiting for them in the living room with the picture on full display.

They were ready to meet Dorian early in the afternoon.

“Are you sure you are ok to go there?” Ezekiel was worried about what a visit to Forgotten Hollow could do to Madeline.
“Yes, don’t worry, he said nothing would happen as long as he was around.”

Ezekiel didn’t ask more questions even if he had a lot.

As soon as Dorian was gone, Madeline ran to Ezekiel’s house .
“Guess what?”
Ezekiel could see she was excited about something.

“Yes, don’t worry, no one will cause you any harm as long as I am there.”
“Ok, I’ll let Ezekiel know.”

“Interesting, I feel like I could learn a lot with you lord Ashmore.”
“While this is true, I’m not here to play the teacher, at least not today. I need to have a talk with Mr. Lavigne and you. You can come whenever you want.”

But when she saw who walked out of the portal, she relaxed. In front of her was standing Lord Ashmore.
“I didn’t know vampires could open portals.”
“Only me and another vampire can, we were spellcasters before being turned and we kept all the spellcaster abilities.”

Maddie was about to join Ezekiel for his morning walk with Shadow when a black portal opened in front of her. She felt the little hair of the neck lift, she wanted to run, but her legs refused to move. She was hoping Ezekiel was seeing that same portal and would be there soon.
