These are our two U.S. senators.

Mississippi hasn't had a Black U.S. senator since 1881, despite electing the first two Black senators in U.S. history: Hiram Revels + Blanche K. Bruce.

After Reconstruction ended, white supremacists went to work to permanently destroy Black political power in MS.

This is in Mississippi—the state with the largest Black population by percent.

Nearly 4-in-10 Mississippians are Black. Yet we have "Confederate Heritage Month" and "Confederate Memorial Day."

Oh, and our 8 statewide elected state officials look like this.
