04.03.2026 00:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yesh, I'm not looking forward to a guy whose energy on coming to detroit is best described as "well, if I *have to* i'll email my agent and have him alter the terms of my contract..."

I love missing out on players because GMSY wants to treat the market like its a rational, evidence and stats-based beast, and GM's are seasoned poker players.
Meanwhile there are GM's like Guerin that treat draft capital like stolen bitcoin and treat every paycheck that clears like house money.
The Bristol Hercules. Also known as "why you shouldn't leave the design engineers unattended for long periods of time."
"Sleeve valve" is a terrifying phrase.
Itβs 3/3, annual reminder to raise hell and praise Dale

Thats probably a byproduct of having to remain on FanDuel for the rest of the season.
The NHL (and remaining NBA teams) are stuck with FD until the end of the regular season & have at least had to pretend that the house of cards isn't collapsing, in hopes of someone buying the existing FD assests.
Still not there yet. Not sure we ever will be.
MLB is slowly creeping towards a point where the league has broadcast rights control (a good thing) but whether or not Manfred actually leverages it correctly, or bows to the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, and Red Soxs (and, interestingly, Braves)
I just hope Houston uses him as a complimentary player, rather than a guy stuck pushing an elephant up the stairs.

All that said, Scruggs has played mostly guard in Houston. We could conceivably pull him as a lead blocker for Gibbs. Then we could have....
SCRUGGS IN THE FLAT(T)!
Scruggs played 0 snaps at center last year but ok.
But, based on returns, it's hard to say that Monty got a raw deal.
(I, however, am sad that i'll have to retire an obscure REM / NFL crossover joke.)
Dwight Yoakam is a nice intro to the Bakersfield sound. He's accessible (unfortunately a massive Buckeye fan) & leds into Buck Owens and Merle Haggard.
Yoakam was supposed to tour with the Mavericks a couple years ago before their lead singer got sick (and sadly passed). They're another good find.
I dont condone alcoholism but uhhh...hammered Tyler Childers is an outlaw country cheatcode.
youtu.be/nPTP8famD-M?...
Tyler Childers is great, but his signal to noise is not as good as Sturgil.
Chris Stapleton is a good gateway drug. The Stapleton and Simpson Austin City Limits performances were top tier.

Here's an odd one for #skycards a glow Beech 50 twin headed to Pontiac...

Kirk Cousins career earnings: $331,000,000 (approx.)
Bernie Madoff unrecovered damages: $18,000,000,000 (approx.)
It would only take about 50 more Kirk Cousins' to perpetuate an equal amount of financial fraud.
The first attempt to go blocker low was Makar burying Canada's only goal, and only other one i remember was MacKinnon's infamous (but shallower than it looked) whiff.
My guess is Canada's analytics guys thought there was a weakness in Hellebuyck's RVH, but it was obviously not there in that game.
My technical beef was with the lack of adjustment. (to my semi-trained eye) Canada's shot selection was, as the kids say, ass.
Everything seemed to be focused shortside high. When done right, unstoppable (because its hard to get your glove next to your left ear). When done wrong; breadbasket save.
"Nobody got fired for buying IBM"-ass coach. No Sid? Play the hell out of McDavid, because there's not two seasons worth of empirical evidence that THAT'S a bad plan.
(and then bitch about 3v3 when Nathan MFIng MacKinnon is gassed at the end.)
Are you watching The Hunt For Red October again?
Todayβs the 23rd, isnβt it?
What?
I'm advocating for this to be called the Apollo 15 goal, since it was pretty much an all-umich goal, even if you have to fudge the definition a bit.

A fire alarm isnt just a smoke detector. It is a social indicator. It tells your primitive little monkey brain "It is OK to leave. Something is wrong."
Being authority figures in that situation and ignoring a warning like that is a terrible decision.
