The 31st Street ruling killing the bike lane might be one of the dumbest ever, because it's not just an error of judgement, it's an error of geometry!

The court docket doesn't say anything yet, but a TV reporter is claiming the 31st St bike lane has been killed. If this is real and isn't overturned on appeal (how even can a bike lane plan be arbitrary and capritious?) NYC can't build anything anymore because a handful of suburbanites can just sue

Let's stimulate those brain cells responsible for imagination

For the fragile men out there:

They're putting out so many ebike hit pieces it's pretty hard to keep them straight

This is backwards. They've found an individual case of harm and ignored the big picture reality that in aggregate ebikes greatly *reduce* danger on our streets by getting some people out of cars, the mode inflicting the vast majority of injuries and killing.

In case anyone does not see how dishonest this is, it's just basic propaganda. You find someone somewhere (hopefully a pretty white woman!) that was legitimately harmed, and then you just constantly repeat that story until ppl associate it with ebikes. Eventually come to associate ebikes with danger

The Car and Oil industries are going to work overtime to paint ebikes as dangerous instead of a solution to the danger of cars, and legacy corporate media like the NYT are going to help them

This is a BIG deal, because it is the continuation of by far the largest GREEN WAVE in the city. (lights are timed for us at 15mph, not the normal of 25 for cars.) You'll soon be able to go over 100 blocks without stopping for a red light. Honestly all lights in the city should be timed this way

Literally half the days in next month in NYC are gridlock alert days. We will do nothing to deter traffic though, because Gov. Hochul decided it was more important to pander to suburban Car Karens when implementing congestion pricing.
