Today, I’m holding two truths: the weight hard news and pride in what I’ve seen. And I realize, that’s okay.

I can’t believe how stupid everything is

Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia has legal protections. They deported him because he is brown and wore sports attire. He’s in prison and they just shrug, say “Oops”. This isn’t a mistake.

I’m brown. I wear sports attire. I was born here. Will I get due process? We can’t stay silent. We need to be loud.

For 25 hours and 5 minutes, he stood, calling out bad actors who are a nightmare dressed like a daydream. When they wanted quiet, he gave them a marvelous time ruining everything.

Just found out my kid’s friends say I’m a ‘goated’ mom—highest honor unlocked!

I told my kids to keep their phones on them when school started. Told them to lie and say they didn’t have it, if they had to and I would take the heat if they got caught. I am totally not ok with the schools locking up phones.

Saw this somewhere and it sums up how I am feeling about many people in my life right now.
