I would be careful with names that sound very different than Yoav.
If one is talking about Yoav and the other about Larry, they will have a hard time to figure out that they're really talking about the same person.

Yes, it's more explicit. And I'm for readability and reducing mental load.
But this is so foundational that you can easily learn it in your first hour of Go. After getting used to it private and public are just noise adding mental load.
