First game's one of my all-time favorites (and the sequel officially left Early Access and "released" on Thursday) – I'd definitely recommend looking into it to see if its gameplay and aesthetics might be to your liking. Plus, it's on sale for just over $6 on the Switch right now!

I totally agree – at this point, I'd rather it remain a singular work! It's been sixteen years since its release so I feel like, for the most part, the time window for a follow-up's passed. additionally, given what I mentioned in my last comment, I'm not confident that a sequel'd even be decent.

I love District 9 and definitely agree! I think another part of its fall to (some degree of) obscurity is that Neill Blomkamp followed it up with...a series of cinematic misfires, for the most part? I think it's easier for a director's earlier works to remain relevant when their oeuvre's consistent?
