I have a weird obsession with 100%'ing the achievements for the Jackbox Party Packs.

Two hours after starting, I have managed it.

That's now 13/13 (I've not done any of the standalones) 100%'d.

...okay, having read my initial messages again, I'll need to understand what I was trying to say! 😅

As a designer, I've fallen into the trap of "I have all the information, and therefore so will my players" many times, and so KTANE was a humbling experience.

It's a prime example of asymmetrical gameplay, puzzle-solving and collaborative communication, sure.

But there's that deeper layer, too.

I think KTANE can serve an important job beyond mechanics or genre - it's a prime example of the curse of knowledge.

Sure, if you had both parts of the puzzle (the game screen and the manual), it'd be so much easier.

But you don't. And you're relying on someone else who also doesn't.

Finally got to watch BOTC Live ran by @jongracey.bsky.social @lpoolgaymesfair.bsky.social yesterday - I forgot to take photos, I was enjoying it so much, and I got to chat with Jon after the show! If you're going to Edinburgh Fringe, or see it listed elsewhere, definitely give it a watch!

(100%'d the franchise [so far] in a week, and that achievement was a nice PAUSE [😉] from the grind!)

Currently doing some prep for a @beziergames.bsky.social Ultimate Werewolf Legacy campaign, and sorting through everything already makes me want a sequel campaign! 😅

When the series originally came out, I was hoping that some of these would have been included - I'm still hoping that (at least) one gets used in S3!
