Rock Singer, Left in Car 'to Sober Up,' Found Dead LONDON (P)-Bon Scott, 33, lead singer of the Australian rock group AC-DC, has been found dead in a parked car where a friend had left him to sober up after a day's drinking, police said today. A Scotland Yard spokesman said Scott's body was discovered Tuesday night in south London and that there were no suspicious circumstances. An autopsy is to be performed. Scott was born in Scotland but was reared in Australia where the five-man group was formed. AC-DC currently has a single, "Touch Too Much," that is No. 34 cn British charts. The group's recent album, "Highway to Hell," went high on both the British and American charts. The long-haired Scott, who would disrobe during performances, reveal- Bon Scott ing his heavily tattooed arms, reveled in his repuation as a heavy drinker. Scott wrote AC-DC's lyrics as well as sang them. "I'm the poet," he was once quoted as saying. AC-DC, London-based since 1976, has been playing for nearly a decade but only recently hit the big time. It made its name through six albums and outrageous live performances. AP photo Scott and guitarist Angus Young would dress up in schoolboy uniforms complete with short trousers for their stage act. A spokesman for Warner Brothers, their recording company, said: "They are one of our biggest sellers. I don't know yet what the band will do."

Bon Scott passed away 46 years ago today.
