I did a lot of research about filling gaps in floors. Plank floors are much more common in Europe and I came across a number of people in England using slivers. You can actually buy them ready made there. American style wood floor fillers just crack and fall through the gaps.

They are old floorboards out of the back addition ripped up into little wedge shaped strips and hammered with glue into the gaps.

Adding English style wood "slivers" to the big gaps in our 120 year old plank kitchen floors. Might be sacrilegious, but who wants floor cracks full of food bits?

Hello new world. I'm Luke. I like old cars and historic Southwestern architecture. This is my 67 Volvo in front of painter Oscar Berninghaus' 19th century adobe house.
