Had a rescue pup with a similar story & named him Marcus after the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius who was known for his belief in Stoicism, the ancient Greek and Roman philosophy that emphasizes virtue, reason, and inner strength in the face of hardship. I know. Crazy but the name fit our guy

I wanted to encourage you to not be depressed but then I remembered this first came out in the 1980's. It was relevant then & we haven't learned a darn thing. It's still relevant today. Now I'm depressed too. At least I'm in good company. Take care 😊

Good question. Dusty will not allow me to brush him. It's just his thing. I have a few self grooming tools he uses. We have the arched one & a couple that attach to the corner of a wall. He does use them & they help. When he gets a mat we have a battle to get him corralled & rid of it. Easy peasy 🩷

Winter coat. The upper left pic is from 1.5 yrs ago in June. He grew the longer coat for winter & he'll probably shed it now that he's indoor only. Interesting to see if he ends up a short or shorter hair cat. Take care.

He could not be handled when he was outside. I had to use a humane trap. He has seen a vet that visited our home but needs to go in for tests, neuter, etc. I would like to be able to handle him rather than trap him again. Goal is vet care in March regardless of how we get him there. Take care.

You're right. I hadn't thought of the eagle cam being frightening. I did find some critter cams. Small furries like squirrels . Waiting to see how he reacts. Take care.

Interesting you mention sleeping places. When Cookie was in my garage his fav spot was a car floor mat that on a table. Now has soft beds, blankets, rugs but preferred the bare tile floor so I got him a new car floor mat & he uses that a lot but has also started to use the couch & chair. Take care 🩷
