People keep talking about Kalshi. Is that the cereal with the rice puffs?

In the '90s, a guy named Frank Perreti made a play at being the Christian Stephen King by writing a novel about a group of townspeople whose sins manifested as oozing rashes as their skin. Eventually, the ooze summoned a big dragon who ate them all. Anyway.

I don’t know how much of it was a product of the defender’s positioning, but it sure looked like he could have just passed it in

Although I suppose if any pair of coaches could turn someone from the current batch of CMs into the next Cristian Roldan (or CR Lite, even), it would probably João Paulo Nagamura

Yu Tskukanome scored a goal and had more key passes than any other Defiance player, but to my eye gave the ball up too easily multiple times when he should be leading the group by example imo.

I expected better match control from Defiance given the coaches, but also think the CMs are an odd fit.

not the most beautiful game, and some (from what I could tell while watching on my phone) rough performances particularly from guys on first team contracts, but I think I’m going to be buying even more Mark Bronnik stock, and I’m calling my guy about getting some Gnaulati and Jauregui stock, too.

Defiance open 2026 season with a shootout loss Two late goals allow Defiance to force shootout, but it’s not enough.

Defiance storm back to force shootout, but can’t grab the bonus point in season-opener.

Ferreira is almost 9 months younger than Leo Chu and could conceivably be a Best XI caliber player in Seattle. He’s more expensive, and it took a lot to get him, but it’s the kind of move fans want the team to make and it isn’t my treated like that because it happened within the league.

In comparison Leo Chu played 94 times and had 8g, 13a.

I think Ferreira’s going to be Very Good this year, and it’s easy to imagine him improving a lot on last year’s numbers. I guess this is all to say that we should be giving Waibel some credit for a massive outlay made to seriously improve.

Now, some of that is squishy and dismissible for some because it’s not cold hard American dollars, it’s league resources and a divisive player, traded for a guy who didn’t quite explode last year and is a little divisive among the fan base.

But per Transfermarkt, Ferreira had 5g, 10a in 48 apps

That loan made me look at the Ferreira trade again and, it’s frankly pretty wild. For Ferreira Seattle sent Dallas: $1.5M in GAM, potentially rising to $2.3M with performance incentives; a 2025 international slot, worthy $250k or so; Leo Chu, I think fairly valued at $1M or so. Total value ~$3.5M

I don’t really have a point here, but:

I saw that Leo Chu is being sent on loan from the Portuguese club that FC Dallas sold him to, joining a second division Brazilian side. He’s only played in 4 MLS games since leaving Seattle, mostly due to a knee injury.

Flying my Saturdays are for the Boys flag upside down in front of my house so my neighbors know I oppose our invasion of Iran.

DC United's press is hopelessly passive and poses zero hard questions, great to see a team rep their city

Danny Leyva and Necaxa lost 2-1 to Leon, but Leyva got another assist from a set piece and I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if a better Liga MX team swooped him in the Summer. Necaxa currently have 9 points from 8 games, and he’s arguable been on e of their best players

A 2-1 road loss to RSL sucks, but it could be worse. At least we aren’t Charlotte getting dog walked in Carson

I think Tommy the Muel just hit the Vinicius Jr. goal dance, and if that’s really what he did then I think that rocks.

I am however a little concerned about him and Preki both rocking the hats with the stickers still on the brim for this one, though.

Just a reminder that you can’t extrapolate almost anything from a result away against RSL. It is not a real place, the Twilight Zone, a Bermuda Triangle of sorts, a place where the normal rules of reality do not apply. It is a cursed place, it is not a place of honor.

there is no fan base more off-putting to see scream than RSL

I am totally fine with scheduling the RSL away loss for the second game of the season

Is it good for Nouhou to get stuck in no man’s land, watch the ball float over him, and then just put no effort into helping chase the play down?

01.03.2026 01:48 — 👍 4    🔁 0    💬 2    📌 0

I would start with passing to players wearing Sounders jerseys instead of RSL jerseys, and putting the ball in the back of RSL’s net.

MLS isn’t the Premier League, but Tottenham never won anything with Harry Kane. An elite goal scorer is not enough to win games on their own, you’re better off investing in players who can control/dictate the game and maximize the talent of the players around them.
