This is clearly illegal under International Humanitarian Law.

If it hastens the switch to wind, solar PV and storage technologies, as it surely will, the switch to cleaner greener alternatives will boom. The collapse of oil will see a boom elsewhere. Capitalism isn't sentimental.

To me it looks like we are transitioning (starting around 2000) from a very worrying straight line increase in global heat content to an alarm curving up in the global heat content.
We are headed much deeper into catastrophic tipping point territory, much more quickly. :-(

I remember how the 2007-2008 oil price spike increased the price of donkeys in Ethiopia..
