What a tone deaf move by the supposedly smart people at Meta. I'll be keeping an eye on Threads, as I've found some lovely people and community over there, but my tolerance for shenanigans stops at misinterpreting what free speech actually means.

I had the same thing several years ago. When I could no longer hold a plate in my hand I went to a hand specialist and got a shot. Almost immediate improvement.

I think until the major news/governmental orgs start using all the platforms for breaking news (and one ::ahem, Threads:: develops a better algo) a lot of people will stay. And they don't seem inclined to make much of an effort to do that.

Not that anyone asked my opinion, but the difference between Threads & Bluesky is the feeling of community and interaction. Bluesky feels like Twitter in days of yore, lots of professional use. Threads seems more like the public square where people are chatting with each other more casually.
