Thanks once again to the Times Higher for reminding us all - hundreds of job losses and the evisceration of entire disciplines later - who the real victim is in all of this.
11.12.2025 08:25 β π 56 π 25 π¬ 8 π 3An interesting interview. While Prof Larner was getting sympathy from her neighbour's child who wanted to share their toys with her, I was explaining to mine the potential impact of the University's decision. I know that other colleagues were doing the same.
11.12.2025 09:21 β π 26 π 8 π¬ 2 π 0I don't doubt that this process has taken its toll on senior staff, but the framing and timing of this seems pretty callous as we enter the festive period in month 10 of being in scope for redundancy. Happy holidays folks. www.timeshighereducation.com/depth/wendy-...

It's been almost ten months to the day that my School has been 'in scope' for redundancy.
Exhausting as it's been, the most depressing thing is that the rest of the university seems to be forgetting that we're still in that pool and moving on as we drift and drown.
Congratulations Randy - it is a wonderful book! Honored to have shared part of the stage with ya.
