β€œBut this week, 60 Minutes reported the U.S. government acquired a directed energy weapon from a Russian criminal network, and is believed to be testing it on animals.”

Every time this comes up the story gets weirder.

Octavia E. Butler said, β€œThese novels are not prophetic. These novels are cautionary tales… The problems that I write about are problems that we can do something about. That's why I write about them.”

And β€œI hope they're not prophecy because I don't want to live in that world.”

What a weird bit of history to go down, that it only took a single president to take the United States from the international apex to failed state laughing stock, but that it happened non-contiguously and that after losing his second election, people just gave him another shot to finish doing it

america is the land of opportunity. you could become a navy seal, and then even a US senator, and before you know it you’re breaking a marine veteran’s arm with no repercussions. greatest country on earth.

As with Prince Andrew, an elite club taking aggressive action against an Epstein associate *now* suggests that additional damning information will soon come to light. Somebody at FBI tipped off somebody at Harvard and AEA. We’ve just seen the tip of the iceberg.

The GOP's One Big, Beautiful Bill allocated $170 billion over 4 years for border security & immigration, and ICE announced in Nov. that it would spend $2.25 million to buy 25 Tahoes wrapped in the agency's logo. The contract was given to GOP donor Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports in NC.

Fifty-nine-year-old Pejman Karshenas Najafabadi is currently the 11th person to have died while in ICE custody this year that we know of, and the 17th ICE-related death since the killing of Keith Porter on December 31, 2025.

We’ve done all of this before, but when you can’t acknowledge that white supremacy as a political project was made untenable because of the actions of people targeted by and who opposed it rather than abandoned in a spurt of white sympathy you’re forced to retrace these steps.

They don’t consider decolonization movements to have been genuine but instead some sort of treacherous plot as such they have no consideration of how these nations they want to bully will actually respond to imperial aggression.

A fun phrase to Google in relation to the conflict over whether Kansas would be slave or free is "Beecher's bibles"

John Brown and his sons famously hacked 5 pro-slavery men to death in Kansas. Using broadswords. Contemporaries credit them with scaring the fuck out of the slavers at the realization that some of the "free men" were also willing to be brutally violent.

'Ridiculous': Kristi Noem's 28-year-old aide wasted millions on unusable ICE vehicles A former deputy to outgoing Homeland Security chief Kristi Noem saddled the department with millions of dollars in wasted funding for vehicles that cannot be used.U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcem...

A Noem aide spent $3 million on pickup trucks emblazoned with the ICE name & logo, which ICE agents -- notoriously averse to advertising their presence -- will not drive, so they're just sitting in a lot, useless. The contract went to a Trump donor who owns a regional Chevy dealership.

If an official commits an impeachable offense and nobody acts to impeach, it is no longer an impeachable offense.

People who oppose impeachment as β€œpointless” because it seems unlikely to result in removal do not understand this very simple point and seem unwilling to even try to understand it.

Let me take this moment to remind you on a related note that China & Russia know more about the USA nuclear arsenal than the government will admit to public & I mean some basic shit like the yields of weapons retired decades ago to where the depots in the USA are.

14 days seems excessive & given Trump Regime…

…added delays enables more lies & less accountability/impedes OSINT research & verification (one wonders about Regime’s role here).

FDR Writes a Policy in Blood FDR’s blind insistence on unconditional surrender prolonged World War II and cost hundreds of thousands of lives.

Here’s a piece on how the demand for unconditional surrender played out in the European Theater. TL;DR
There’s a formerly Top Secret study of the phrase by Dr. Edward P. Lilly in the Joint Chiefs of Staff papers in the National Archives (Record Group 218). It’s an exhaustive study written after WWII

I will say, seeing astroturf campaigns on BSKY suggests that the platform is viewed by the groups that run these operations as a legitimate source of political discussion that influences and moves voters.

A lot of very smart people are predicting a reversion to the mean in US/Iranian relations at the conclusion of this…..crisis I guess.

But, we just martyred the current Supreme Leader’s father and wife. We also bombed an elementary school and made the skies above Tehran rain oil.

If Iran has Tomahawk missiles, they got them from us. While other countries do have various types of cruise missiles, the Tomahawk is distinct and also only used by the US and people the US has sold it to. To date we've only sold them to the UK, Australia, and the Netherlands.

Those who have tamped down concerns about the SAVE Act’s chance of passage in the Senate are wrong. Keep your eyes on the prize. The potential for a blowout in 2026 is top of mind for Trump, and there are only a few ways to avoid it.

Call your Senators. 202-224-3121.

Even if the chickening out happens today, Iran’s former leader has still been murdered and the capital city has still been lit afire, and that is radicalizing and will have negative effects for all of us
