I should clarify that this was something I heard someone say in a taped interview. The person who said it has undoubtedly never heard of me and wasn’t commenting on any of my books. So I doubt if anything I do will piss him off unless he happens to run across any of my stories.

I saw an interview the other day where an author said you shouldn't build up a side character and make the readers like them, and then kill them off in the next chapter. Well, then, how many chapters should I wait? Fuck it, I'm knocking them off in the next chapter.

Well, five stars are nice. But I'll put the content of that 3-star review right up there with the 5-star reviews I've received and ahead of many of them.

I've always maintained that the number of stars counts for far less than the fact you got reviewed. I'm far more interested in the number of reviews a book gets than the number of stars in the reviews.

Copy of a fairly lengthy review of A Troll Walks into a Bar that calls the story “fantastic” and the mystery “engaging” while cautioning against some objectification of women and graphic violence that nonetheless “fit right in this style of noir novel.”

That's my wife, Rita, holding the same two signs. We were on the fringes of the demonstration at that point.

The center of the demonstration was pretty packed.

I liked this sign, which reads: Does this ass make my country look small? I would say that nearly half of the people in attendance had a sign.

Rita and I dropped by our local No Kings Day demonstration. Biggest turnout I've ever seen for a demonstration in our sleepy little town!
