150 mlynedd yn ôl, adroddodd bapur newydd y Field fod pwyllgor wedi ei greu i drefnu gem bêl-droed gyntaf @Cymru, a bod gwesty’r Wynnstay yn Wrecsam wedi cynnal cyfarfod cyntaf erioed cymdeithas bêl-droed newydd sbon.

150 years ago today the Field newspaper reported a committee had been formed to arrange the first @Cymru match and the very first meeting of a brand-new football association had been held at the Wynnstay Arms in Wrexham.

8th Jan 1876, the first spark, the creation of the Welsh national football team was struck in a letter to the Field newspaper, George Alexander Clay-Thomas was creating a Wales football team to play Scotland or Ireland under rugby rules!
