The Economic Impact of Brexit
Other
Still reeling from the Stanford report on Brexit. Reduced GDP by up to 8% and investment by as much as 18%. The UK Treasury would have Β£40 billion more each year if Britain had remained in the EU. Devastating self-immolation.

Thatcher sold the family, leaving us to live in a country that is now largely owned from overseas. Having run out of things to sell, Thatcherism has come to the end of the road. It was a failed social experiment that has completely failed. Labour needs to abandon Thatcherism.

Every single Thatcher/Major era privatisation, from steel and water to railways, has ended in failure. Tell me I'm wrong.

In 1970 the UK and Norway were roughly equal, almost no debt, and owned all their Public Services.
Now the UK owns nothing and has Β£3tn of debt.
While Norway still owns everything and has the equivilant of +Β£18.42tn.
That's how privatisation 'works'.

It's the 5 year anniversary of Rupert Lowe saying this tomorrow.
"It will be impossible to argue against Brexit".
"You will struggle to find anyone who admits to voting Remain."

As well as Brexit it is the cancer of Privatisation that is killing the UK.
Because you spend your money and a large chunk of that goes on profits, 80% of which go to Tax Havens.
Β£100bn worth each year and that is just from companies.

Privatisation promised prosperity but delivered decline
Privatisation promised efficiency but led to declining services and higher costs. No wonder the public now favours renationalisation
