I need to go back to rampant unapologetic shipping art when my body is next up for it. Outside of the physical aspect, I’ve been mentally slacking. Maybe I’ll just watch Battle Tendency again. That’ll do it.

Like two months? Three? I’ll be back in full for OPLA though. Nothing will stop me from being *really annoying* about the new season.

In other news, I’m actually taking a break this spring from conventions (other than CitrusCon!) and most digital art because it’s destroying my hands and wrists. I’ll be doing some traditional painting, but plan to be a little more absent. I’ll be around until new years tho~

I realize I *could* just draw dnd characters that I will never run in campaigns because in reality I’m not into RP. 🤔🤔

The thing that bothers me the most these days is that people make art of all types and comment after comment is:

“I don’t get it.”
“This is stupid.”
“Waste of time.”
“Why?”

Why?
Because we can.
Because god forbid we see or feel or hear something and want to create something tangible.🙄

i dont want to be in a fandom that critisizes the choices of fictional characters like they are human beings. i want to see THEORY and ANALYSIS and STORY STRUCTURE and CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!! I WANT PARALLELS AND MOTIFS AND VISUAL CUES!!! They're not REAL they are TOOLS so stop acting like they are people who made bad choices and should be punished. of course they made bad choices!!! that shit is funny and cool to watch!!

As a child of CLAMP I understand the need to put detail on *everything*. You should see some of my old traditional work, it’s no wonder I got the carp lmao.

Also, I won’t lie learning to shorthand via sketches and less cleaned up work means you’ll cut down on your time on larger finished stuff.

But yeah, idk, my main thought about it is always “be less precious”, if there’s something you really want to do specifically and need that extra bit of clean up and detail? Sure! Just for vibes? Keep it loose~ 💛💛

Honestly when this happens to me I go two routes, get used to leaving things in a partially finished state OR leaving all sanity behind and suffering until the hyperfixation allows me to sleep.

The first one is far healthier.
