Also at the moment, AI browser agents look like self-training RPA, rather than the future of the web.

Downloaded the ChatGPT Atlas browser out of curiousity and all the things that give it power, like remembering things from websites you visit, are things I just wouldn't trust being stored on OpenAI's servers.

Sure, Google and Apple probably have some of this data already, but it FEELS different.

V late to this (it’s a weekend, family stuff, etc) but..I agree with Ben. Both Katie Lam’s interview about deporting people with legal status (and the way STimes treated it) & the Christian Calgie business are disturbing egs of forgetting that ‘normal on X these days’ is very much not normal

I hope it drives more people to discover Live Through This, which is unquestionably one of the greatest albums of the 90s.

The Greens Now Have More Members Than The Tories As Support Surges Another 1,000 signed up this morning alone.

The Greens now have more members than the Tories, and say they signed up more than 1,000 this morning when Zack Polanski was on TV.

Now they've overtaken the Tories, they're targeting Labour.

Interesting times

A lot that could be said about this but if you look on Twitter it’s noticeable that the replies and quote tweets are *overwhelmingly* telling him he shouldn’t have apologised and even attacking him for doing so. That’s the feedback loop certain users are plugged into now, and it has consequences.

Think we’ve crossed a pretty major threshold – and a very bad one – if a journalist working in the lobby for a major newspaper group can tweet like this without professional consequences.

Although I suppose if you want to claim Alaska back, having a tunnel is quite helpful.

Like, it’s a rail tunnel but it would have to stop in Alaska and would probably require infeasible amounts of rail infrastructure to get from Moscow to… Juneau?

17.10.2025 21:51 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

lol, who would even travel through this tunnel? There’s miles of cold, barren land at either end.

Mercury Prize night tonight, but ‘A Sober Conversation’ by BC Camplight and ‘Vol. II: Splendour & Obedience’ by Decius are sadly missing, even though they should have been on the shortlist, says this amateur music critic.

This is depressing. I'm editing a document to remove — em dashes (which I originally typed!) because naive folk will mistakenly think they are always a 'tell' for AI written content. They can indicate AI writing, but not always as AI uses them because people did originally.
