so nice to hear him in his piano-heavy mode, reminds me of Heike and A Silent Voice

However, the HG GQuuuuuuX kits are particularly complex, approaching that of Real Grade kits (same size, higher internal complexity).
Ambitious, highly detailed, kinda non-standard, unusually tricky and maybe a bit of a rough introduction: much like GQuuuuuuX itself! 😅

High Grades are the "basic" level, smaller size and fairly simple construction. (They were cutting edge when the name was first introduced in 1990, but what was once a High level of quality has now become standard.)

Oh I've seen that hand stabilizer around, curious how it works for you

Would also be interesting to compare anime- and non-anime-community performance. Would not be surprised if presence on Netflix led to higher non-community performance (and thus higher overall), but lower community perf. (and thus staying power, though that might be more about the "drop" format.)

Anecdotally, presence on Netflix might bring shows to a wider audience. I once assumed a friend-of-a-friend was a mid-2000s otaku because they made an Ouran joke but no, they'd just seen it on Netflix. (I found this out by making an Eva joke, then floundering for 30 sec trying to explain Eva.)

Is anyone here knowledgeable about the Gundam generation? (i.e. the New Anime Era Declaration generation, ~= Gen X / Shinjinrui?)
I'm working on a reading of GQuuuuuuX as allegory for Khara's relationship with Gundam, but it's not as well sourced as I'd like; looking for someone to poke holes in it

Oh, two more if you want to count the two Base Jabber variants, but of course those are polycapless lol

I thought I remembered something about a shared polycap runner, so I double-checked via Dalong.
This runner (PC-210) was used for all but four of the RE/100: the very first (Nightingale; uses PC-209) and the three newest molds (Zaku II FZ, Shokew, and Den'an-Gei; polycapless).

Ye olden days (I assume, what kit is this?)

Incorrect but maybe correct answer: BL Metamorphosis, a manga about a 75-year-old woman who accidentally stumbles into into the world of BL manga and develops a cross-generational friendship with a closeted highschool fujoshi
I just started reading it on a whim, and it's really nice!

oh my god
I've seen Bandai pull off some incredible shapes with slide molds on the Entry Grades, but I've never seen parts quite like this
what an astounding work of mold engineering

"Japanese Animation Guide: The History of Robot Anime" ...is not a "mecha text" but it is a text about mecha that has the actual answers you're looking for
mediag.bunka.go.jp/projects/pro...
best single source about the history of mecha available in English; essential reading imo

godspeed
I'm in a similar situation, but it's mostly tools so it should keep size down ...unless I add more bulky kits I've been eyeing 🙃

tired: staying on twitter to Fight The Fight
also tired, but for a good reason: staying on twitter for obscure Japanese hobby news, those companies are never moving

plus I use them as storage boxes so it works out, more space for me
