The photo shows an individual with long, white hair, wearing a dark shirt and a patterned tie with a beaded medallion necklace. They are holding a carved wooden staff topped with a totem-like figure, featuring a face and outstretched wings, possibly representing an eagle or another significant symbol. The background is an outdoor setting with blurred greenery, suggesting a forest or wooded area. The overall composition suggests a cultural or ceremonial context, possibly related to Indigenous traditions.

Chief Dan George led an amazing life.
A gifted poet. An activist for his people. A movie star.
Remembered as the first Indigenous person to receive an Academy Award nomination, he was so much more than that.
This is his story.

The photo, titled Wait for Me, Daddy, is one of the most famous Canadian photos of the 20th century.
Seen as a heartwarming photo of sacrifice during war, there is much more to tell about this photograph.
This is the story of Wait for Me, Daddy.

The circumstances behind the Point Grey campus' unique governance structure are centred, as so many things are in Vancouver, on money, real estate, and politics.
The issue was decided by the votes of a few hundred residents in a town that no longer exists: archives.library.ubc.ca/2022/06/21/u...

Bonus #TBT! Tomorrow is the 100th anniversary of the reason *why the Point Grey campus is referred-to as UBC-Vancouver, and its mailing address clearly says "Vancouver", but is actually not part of the City of Vancouver.*
