As for Audio books, @libro.fm is excellent and you can choose a brick and mortor store to support, which for me is @chaptersbookstore.bsky.social where I order physical copies from.

I switched to ebooks cos I am a speed reader & don't have a house big enough, for all I read.

I have just looked her up!

She has been poet-in-residence at the New England Conservatory of Music for 25 years - but I can’t see any of her other work.

Yes - it must be odd.

A poem by Ruth Lepson - black on a white page:

Ruth Lepson

The Day of Our Divorce Hearing

you treated me to lunch, a spaghetti place.
We had never been so kind to each other.
When you said I'm still a slob we laughed.
After lunch we stood in the parking lot.
You said, You have the last word but I said, No, I'm tired of being the one who sums things up.
You get the last word.
But you couldn't think of one.
So off you went to our silver car, I to our red one.
It's three years later.
And even that's just a story now.
Lately I don't feel as if I lived with you.
But I remember our kindness that day, when it no longer mattered.

Sorry - I have arthritis in my thumbs & limit characters when using a phone instead of a keyboard - but yes, I should be more conscious 💕

Do you know much of her other work? I have seen this come up a few times on social media and I saved it on my phone, but I haven’t come across her anywhere else.

That is exciting!! I am so behind on Irish writers this year as I have been catching up on the world, but the week between Christmas & New Year I am going to wallow in Irish fiction & poetry!

‘Points don’t define potential – work ethic and passion do’ Rickwang Tientcheu says he drifted through the Covid years of second level before building up his own app for students, Edu Éire

In today's @irishtimes.com this man told me how, having 'drifted' for years in school, with the help of the Ballymun Initiative to Third Level Education (BITE) he is now studying in DCU and is launching an app to help other students.

Still have a box of Children’s Christmas books that come out with the decorations … interesting to watch how comforting they are to the big ones home from their exciting lives.

Secondhand has a window of children’s books at the moment!
