🔍Today, SkiLMeeT researchers Linda Koopmans and Sadegh Shahmohammadi (TNO) presented project at the European Commission’s Education & Skills - Horizon Europe Feedback to Policy event. They showed some of our preliminary findings and discussed policy recommendations.

At ELMI 2025 in Warsaw, our researcher @karol-madon.bsky.social(IBS) presented a preliminary SkiLMeeT paper co-authored by Piotr Lewandowski on how automation shapes Norwegian students’ choices.
Key points:
• Robot exposure shapes study choices
• Sons of exposed workers avoid vulnerable tracks

At our final conference session, Vassil Kirov (Bulgarian Academy of Sciences) and Magdalena Parcheva (University of Economics–Varna) examine construction digital-skill needs, and entrepreneurial competences.

At SkiLMeeT Conference Session 9, veescudero.bsky.social (ilo.org) looks at how skills mediate the impact of digital technologies, while Elena Stoykova (Sofia University) examines skill trajectories and labour market integration of sociology graduates.

In Session 7 of the SkiLMeeT Conference, Francesco Berlingieri (@ec.europa.eu), Mina Kostova (IPS-BAS), and Patrice Jalette (@umontreal.ca) discussed job quality in the context of the pandemic, healthcare workers’ situation, and the impact of labour shortages on working conditions.

Mariya Mincheva (Bulgarian Industrial Association) presents a policy keynote at the SkiLMeeT Conference, “Skills: A Key Currency of Competitiveness – The Employer’s Perspective”, offering a Bulgarian industry view on skills for competitiveness and innovation.

Session 6 on firms at the SkiLMeeT Conference is live. Luisa Braunschweig (@iabnews.bsky.social), Elena Fumagalli (@utrechtuniversity.bsky.social) & Elena Grinza (University of Turin) discuss how firms shape inequality, bias in hiring, and productivity effects of climate change.

At Session 5 of the SkiLMeeT Conference, Hannah Liepmann (ilo.org), Mirjam Fitzthum (rwi.bsky.social) & Dimitar Nikoloski (St. Kliment Ohridski Univ) discuss the demand for green skills in emerging economies, the challenges of skills mismatches, and the regional dimensions of the green transition.

At Session 3, Roy Peijen (TNO), Ludo Visschers (uc3m.es), Rumiana Stoilova & Petya Ilieva (IPS-BAS) explore challenges in worker mobility, including re-employability & re-skilling of displaced workers, reallocating of workers from declining to growing jobs & the role of informal adult education
