nowhere does it say that you won’t have any control over the neighborhood feature, it’s not even implemented yet so I doubt even bluesky knows 100% atp. just don’t use the discover feed if you don’t like the feature!

don’t think the “neighborhood” feature is implemented yet so I can’t say for sure but you’ll probably be able to control if you’re in one or not

no, your content is absolutely the platform’s business the moment it gets uploaded, if you read the terms of service of basically anything on the internet that exists rn

also the major pro of Bluesky is that you can choose your algo/feed, who cares if somebody wants an algorithmic timeline

then how exactly would you ever see stuff from people you don’t follow? a randomizer?

god forbid we see stuff outside of people we follow

I see tweets in like every facet of the internet even if you don’t use them, from articles, to podcasts, to YouTube videos to news channels, etc. bluesky? never

good for you, but I can definitely say that’s not most people’s experience. within the people I know, they can be categorized into:

1. Never heard of it
2. Heard of it, but never used it
3. Used it, but stopped

Bluesky adding users just didn’t bring it cultural relevance (same thing with Threads)

and how many people irl you know actually use, or even know bluesky? numbers going up doesn’t mean anything on its own

I mean I think you don’t really need any big analysis to know why reporters stay there and don’t come here (or if they do, they always tweet more regularly): larger audience, bigger reach (especially via embeds), and it’s a platform everybody knows.

They wouldn’t, because Apple doesn’t allow any third-party kernel extensions in macOS (at least since 2019). That’s why Macs running CrowdStrike Falcon during the attack weren’t affected
