I've been struggling to express this critique of both blood quantum and those people who love to claim supposed #Cherokee heritage as a fun lil fact they only bring up when they think it’ll make them look more interesting. It ended up manifesting as this self portrait (1/2)

Otherwise, yea what the other person said. Look for paper trail and search our rolls. The Dawes roll for OK, the baker roll for NC, and the guion Miller roll if they lived anywhere else. If they weren't on the rolls, they are not Cherokee

They will do your genealogy for free and tell you whether or not your ancestors have any connection with the Cherokee. It's run almost entirely by cherokee citizens who are experts in our records.

Yea haha same. I intended to do the whole course in one month and that didn't end up happening. But i know they have new pottery videos up since I was last subscribed, and I think some beading stuff too?
$20 is still super steep though. Its silly to me that itd be a subscription at all

I didn't finish it, I need to get back on it! I canceled my subscription when I got that 3 month conservation job.
The course was really good as far as I got into it!! And I know they're adding more stuff on it. Not a big fan of the subscription model though

Think I'll try to do a firing in the next few days 🤔 it'll be cold but I think it'll be nice to be outside for most of the day tending a fire. I've been growing a backlog of pieces that need to be fired haha, I've been too scared to try

Am I too early? Idk, everything i see says start seeds 6-8 weeks before your last frost, and Google tells me my last frost is march 10. That's juuust 8 weeks, so I think im good! Maybe a little overexcited though haha

Getting seeds started and I Know I'm gunna be going and checking them 3 times a day waiting for them to sprout 😭
So far, I've got parsley, spinach, and jola in the trays. Definitely plan on getting brussels started too
