The espionage soldier was a founding member of Action Zealandia, and set up their chat groups and recruited for them. He also made fawning posts about the Chch shooter. He was arrested before his planned to trip to Russia, following in the shooter's footsteps.

"Wolfe" was a member of the Action Zealandia, Dominion Movement, and Wargus Christi neo-nazi groups.
RNZ has incorrectly reported these groups as "nationalist".
There is plenty of evidence that all 3 groups are neo-Nazis, with members praising Hitler, the holocaust and March 15.

The soldier had reasonable opsec, but had left enough clues for several anti-fascists to independently and categorically link the codename "Johan Wolfe" with his real-life identity.
The intelligence services were more interested in harrassing Muslims and peace activists.

We did this because we were concerned that the soldier, as an armourer in the NZ army, had access to large amounts of weapons he could use in a copycat "accelerationist" mass murder similar to the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting.
