After the Portland ruling, Illinois is now taking action. The state filed a lawsuit today seeking to block the Trump administration from deploying federalized National Guard troops on the streets of Chicago.

Judge Karin Immergut halting deployment of National Guard troops into Portland:

"This is a nation of Constitutional law, not martial law. Defendants have made a range of arguments that, if accepted, risk blurring the line between civil and military federal power - to the detriment of this nation."

BREAKING: Late last night, a federal judge blocked the Trump administration from deploying any out-of-state federalized National Guard troops to Portland, Oregon.

This is a win for the rule of law.
