exactly. As I've seen from the Heroes & Villains fanzine who were at the game, they were on a basketball court, protesting. None of them had any intention of going into the match. Just before kick-off they were marched away from the ground. Jewish Chronicle wanted violence to stir up more hate.

People should be allowed to protest safely, but it's important to point out the area they were in is a large basketball court of the sort you see in playgrounds up and down the country. The other options were block the turnstiles or mash both sets of protestors together. What could they do?
