And on openness, I see it as an entirely different thing. I’m at least on the demisexual spectrum, so openness typically comes a little more difficult for me without the feels attached.

Though I know I'm capable rarely of just getting the hots xD

That being said, I’d be happy in a polyamorous relationship or a monogamous one, as long as everything is functioning and time hasn’t limited the ability to create intimacy between my partner(s). At the same time, because I crave that intimacy from everyone, “chain poly” doesn’t work well for me.

For me, I’d say I don’t experience love as a zero-sum game. It never made sense to me to love someone else less solely because I also feel something for another person. Time and energy do create their own natural budget, but the feeling itself isn’t limiting for me, just time.

That’s fair. I feel like it’s a difficult topic because things get conflated and simplified too much. Openness, polyamory (which has a lot of variety in itself), the depth of these desires, fantasies, and control vs autonomy in relationships are all their own things that can vary a lot.
