Evaluating a lineup of sketch concepts for dayjob and it's the best problem to have when all of them are great but I have to choose only one however the outcome will be a wonderful artist making new art for a series I adore and AAAAAAAA HAPPY FRIDAY

I’d love to know what accommodations other neurodivergent folks have found are most effective for them if you don’t mind sharing 🙏

In the position I have now *leading* a company, I'm confronted almost daily with how so much of the way businesses are built, regulated, structured etc are (unintentionally) neurodivergent-hostile in ways that aren't at all easy to implement accommodations for but that I still have to figure out!

Figuring out how to fit accommodation needs into an existing framework not built for neurodivergence has been, in my experience, the most difficult aspect. In parallel, it's very similar to my dietary restrictions as a supertaster; communicating what I need sometimes goes great! Sometimes... awful.

Something challenging to figure out as a neurodivergent person is what reasonable accommodations are for what I need when balancing against an organization-wide process or procedure. I HATE being the guy causing friction, but when a thing *doesn't work* for my brain, I have to find alternatives.

I'm tempted to make a longer video digging into this stuff because, one, I just think it's neat, but two because folks deserve to be informed consumers!! Also, frankly, it's vastly more difficult to do things ethically; making anything gains extra steps, and cost, when you care about fair practices.

A lot of this is also because making ANYTHING is a risk; doing things as pre-orders helps mitigate this, especially for a small business. My ideal is offering options - for example, jewelry in a more cost-accessible material that still hits our standards, as well as an option in something like gold!

Another example: for a design on a garment done in embroidery or screen printing, each has its pros and cons. Embroidery, especially for large designs, can double, often TRIPLE the cost of production compared to screen printing & risks damage to the base garment.
So I elect screen printing.

As an example: thinking about where the cost in manufacturing spend needs to go, I'd rather that cost go to a higher rate for an ethical factory using good materials than super-fancy packaging that, yes, looks and feels premium but isn't why someone is buying a product.

A major consideration in product designs I'm working on, especially considering everything right now, is end cost to a prospective customer. It matters so much to make things that balance ethical manufacturing, fair pay, and reasonable cost; it's difficult when the whole industry focuses most on $$$

This is not what is meant by the ideal of helping train those who come after you 🙃 that’s horribly bleak; I hope the person who got laid off finds something wonderful soon.

Yeah, anyone vehemently pro-AI is a major red flag to me too. Phil had his moments but I had some personal experiences and major disappointments in my experience with him that left me feeling like I could get better leadership from a Cracker Jack box 😔 I’d love to be wrong but it seems like bad news

I would love to see the next person stepping up to lead NOT be such a milquetoast coward, but Microsoft tends to favor those in spades.
