Yes, but objectively track it if you do leg press at the start of your workout one week but at the end of it the next week. Thats where to total load of the workout would be a better indicator of your progress.

Thatโ€™s not a fair comparison. You wouldnโ€™t swap out a less press for a lat raise. Youโ€™d swap it for something like a squat or deadlift. They would like have compatible loads.

I suppose the key metric really is total load of the workout though. Individual exercises may go up or down depending on which order you do them and how fatigued you are.
