something I like from the train wreck of #iOS26 UI… in the notes app, the visible switch from layout and list options to text options when you select text. It’s obvious what it does, and why. it was one of the few things that has delighted me when I discovered it!

#iOS26 is the first Apple update where I really, really wish I could revert it. The UI is poorly thought out with terrible usability problems, even with reduce transparency enabled. Swipe interactions have a very slight lag. Graphics and haptics are stuttery.

Overall, an F grade update.

Ugh, I don’t know why this is such a popular design trope for user interfaces. I get that it looks cool, but it’s so mid for accessibility!

does anyone know if it’s possible to turn off the weird glow that happens when you tap into text bars in #ios26? it’s distracting.

and for that matter, all of the superfluous movement? the “Reduce Motion” doesn’t actually reduce the motion that’s annoying.

To make my notifications readable, I had to go into Settings > Accesibility > Vision > Display and Text Size and turn on Reduce Transparency.

Which isa big part of the #iOS26 aesthetic. It’s just so bad.

Holy crap, my notifications are almost unreadable if I don’t have “reduce transparency” turned on.

I updated to #ios26, and everything has a slight pause before it happens now. Plus the UI is full of superfluous movement.

Not a fan.
